Registration
Registration usually runs through your state's licensing authority: you submit the Approbation application, the authority registers you for the FSP with the medical chamber, and the chamber invites you to a date. Depending on the chamber, expect waiting times from a few weeks to several months — plan your preparation towards that date.
Fees by chamber
The fee is per attempt — a retake costs the full fee again. Figures come from the chambers' own notices and Marburger Bund overviews; your chamber's current fee schedule is always authoritative.

The realistic total budget
Beyond the exam fee (approx. €350–700) you should typically budget for: the B2 certificate (approx. €150–230), certified translations and attestations for the Approbation application (varies widely, often several hundred euros) and preparation.
